Overview

Duchal House is an 18th century category A listed Georgian mansion situated within Duchal Estate near Kilmacolm.  The building was in a state of disrepair.  Existing coatings were worn away back to bare in places, chalky, loose and flaking.

The client was looking for options so we engaged with two of our suppliers to provide a specification and material cost to complete the project.

The specification chosen by the client was Tikkurila which had been previously used on other National Trust properties.

As part of a major refurbishment project Decorous had to liaise with various other trades to complete the sectional decoration of the external facade.  This involved making sure that scaffolding was erected and dismantled in time with the overall project plan.

We thank the owner for the opportunity to work on the external decoration of this fantastic property and for the invitation to carry out the planned internal works.
